All times on GateCrashers are displayed in Grid Time (SLT) — Pacific Time — the universal standard for OpenSimulator events.
What is GateCrashers?
GateCrashers is the premier event listing and venue discovery platform for OpenSimulator and the Hypergrid. Whether you're a DJ, venue owner, performer, or just someone who loves a good party — GateCrashers connects events and audiences across the entire metaverse.

Creating Your Account
Go to gatecrashers.events and click Sign Up Free
Registration is free and takes less than a minute.
Fill in your account details
Choose a display name, enter your email, and set a password (minimum 8 characters).
Are you a Neverworld Grid resident? Verify your avatar!
Enter your in-world avatar name and password to verify your NWG residency. Verified NWG residents get the NWG Free tier — a free premium upgrade with more events, more Gates, recurring events, and 2 featured event slots!

Head to your Dashboard to start setting up your venue Gate and posting events.
Your Profile
Your GateCrashers profile is your identity on the platform. Set it up to look great across all your listings!
Click your name in the top navigation bar
A dropdown menu will appear with all your account options.
Select My Profile
Upload a profile photo — PNG or JPG, up to 10MB. Square images work best.
Set your Display Name
This is the name shown on your event and venue listings across the platform.
Click Update Profile
Your photo and name update immediately across the entire platform — no refresh needed!
Registering a Venue
A Venue represents your in-world venue on GateCrashers. Register your venue to start posting events and connecting with event-goers across the Hypergrid.
Go to Dashboard → Add Venue
Click the + Add Venue button on your dashboard.
Upload a venue photo — required!
This is the photo that represents your venue across the platform. Make it look great! Widescreen format (16:9) works best. PNG or JPG, up to 10MB.
Enter your venue details
Fill in your venue name, grid name, region name, and HyperGrid hop URL so visitors can teleport directly to you.
Click Register Venue
Your Venue is created and your unique Gate Key is generated. Keep this safe — you'll need it to connect your in-world Gate device!
Installing the Gate Device In-World
The Gate device is a free in-world object that brings GateCrashers to life at your venue. It displays upcoming events, shows live attendance, and lets visitors teleport directly to any listed event.
Get your free Gate device
Pick up the Gate device for free at the NWG Welcome Region or the NW Marketplace on Neverworld Grid.
Hop to NWG Welcome RegionRez the Gate device at your venue
Place the Gate device somewhere visible at your venue — near the entrance works great!
Click the Gate device to open the menu
A dialogue menu will appear with your options.
Choose Settings → Enter Key
Select Settings from the menu, then Enter Key.
Paste your Gate Key and submit
A text box will appear. Paste your Gate Key (from your GateCrashers dashboard) and click Submit. The Gate connects automatically!
Watch it go Online!
The Venue screen will show ★ ONLINE and start displaying your upcoming events and live global GateCrashers events.
GateCrashers Event Broadcaster (GEB)
The GateCrashers Event Broadcaster is a large in-world display board that shows upcoming events from across the Hypergrid — automatically updated every 15 minutes.
Anyone can rez a GEB board. Simply touch it, go to Settings → Enter Key, and paste your Public GEB Key below.

Advanced subscribers can generate their own private GEB key from their Dashboard. This displays their grid's events at the top of the board, followed by all global events — perfect for promoting your grid to visitors.
Posting Events
Go to Dashboard → Post New Event
Or click + Create Event directly on your Venue page to pre-fill the venue details.
Upload your event flyer — required!
Every event listing must have a flyer image. This is what catches people's eyes in the feed! PNG or JPG, up to 10MB. Widescreen format (16:9) recommended.
Fill in the event details
Event title, description, category (DJ Set, Live Music, Dance, Social, Roleplay, etc.), and HyperGrid hop URL.
Select your Venue
Choose your Venue from the dropdown — this auto-fills your grid, region, and hop URL. Or enter location details manually for off-grid events.
Set the date and time in SLT
All times are in Grid Time (SLT — Pacific Time). Double-check your timezone conversion!
Click Publish Event
Your event goes live immediately and appears in the feed, calendar, and on your Gate device!
Recurring Events
Available on NWG Free, Basic, and Advanced tiers. Set an event to repeat automatically so you never have to re-post your weekly show!

Venue Collaborators
Running a venue with a team? Invite other GateCrashers users to post events on your behalf — no password sharing required!
Go to your Venue → Collaborators tab
Open your Venue from the dashboard and click the Collaborators tab.
Enter the avatar name of the person you want to invite
They must already have a GateCrashers account. Enter their avatar name (Firstname Lastname).
Choose their role
Poster — can post events to your Venue only.
Manager — can post events AND edit venue details.
Click Send Invitation
They'll see a notification on their dashboard to Accept or Decline.
Once accepted, your Venue appears in their event creation dropdown
They can now post events to your venue using their own account — completely separate from yours!

Click the 🔖 Bookmark button on any venue page to save it to your personal collection. Access all your saved venues from My Bookmarks in the navbar dropdown — with live status and one-click Copy Hop!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Gate device to post events?
No! You can post events manually by entering your grid, region, and hop URL details. A Gate device enhances the experience with live avatar counts and in-world display, but it's not required.
What is SLT / Grid Time?
SLT stands for Second Life Time — it's Pacific Time (US West Coast). It's the universal standard for OpenSimulator events. All times on GateCrashers are displayed in SLT.
Can people from other grids use GateCrashers?
Absolutely! GateCrashers is built for the entire Hypergrid. Anyone with an OpenSimulator account can register, post events, and list their venue — regardless of which grid they call home.
What happens when my collaborator posts an event?
The event appears under your venue and counts against your event quota. The collaborator's avatar name is credited as the poster. You can remove collaborators at any time from your Venue's Collaborators tab.
How do recurring events work?
Set an event to repeat Daily, Weekly, Every 2 Weeks, or Monthly. GateCrashers automatically calculates the next occurrence and shows it in the feed and calendar — even after the original date has passed!
How long does ad approval take?
Ads are typically reviewed and approved within 24 hours. You'll see your ad status in My Ads on your dashboard.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my tier?
Yes! Contact us on Discord to adjust your subscription. Note that downgrading may affect listings that exceed your new tier's limits.
